Insider Patch Notes 2.2.1.1
Insider Update 2.2.1.1 is now live. A new Shrine and Treasury have both appeared beneath the waves, the Shrine of Tribute, and the Treasury of the Secret Wilds! Head to The Wilds to defeat waves of enemies or the Ancient Isles to unlock secrets and be rewarded with hidden treasures.
We will continue to monitor bug reports from this build, so please continue to report any critical bugs you encounter by heading to the
Sea of Thieves Support site and letting our Player Support team know.
Sunken Kingdom
Siren Shrines
- A new Shrine has unearthed itself in the Ancient Isles, The ‘Shrine of Tribute’. Dive deep below the waves and decipher its puzzles to break itstenacious hold on the treasure within.
Siren Treasuries
- The ‘Treasury of the Secret Wilds’ is now active in The Wilds, allowing crews to reach this new location.

Cannon Rowboat Targeting
- When encountering a Ghost Ship while manning a Cannon Rowboat, players will now find their vessel targeted by their ghastly firepower.
Known Issues
Sunken Kingdom
- The fog effects above the Shrines and Treasuries cuts in and out during normal ocean movements when sailing on a Sloop or when in the water.
- The Breath of the Sea cannot currently be sold to the Order of Souls, Merchant Alliance or Hunter's Call.
- ‘The Shrine of Tribute’ – There's a large air pocket around the outside of the Shrine.
- ‘The Shrine of Tribute’ – There are no ceiling or walls in vault entrance.
- ‘Treasury of Secret Wilds’ – The Tridents are in the incorrect positions.
- ‘Treasury of Secret Wilds’ – The Shrine pops into view as you swim down.
- ‘Treasury of Secret Wilds’ – AI are currently unable to move from their spawn point.
- ‘Treasury of Secret Wilds’ – The treasure within the Vault is floating in the air.
Sunken Treasure Merfolk
- On interacting with a Sunken Treasure Statue, players will experience an early version of a tutorial helping guide players through the feature. This tutorial is currently work in progress and not yet ready for Insider testing.
- When storing treasure with the Sunken Merfolk statues, on returning to the surface and migrating servers the friendly Merfolk will not be present for crews to collect their treasure.
- After storing treasure with the Sunken Merfolk statues and using a statue to return to the ship, multiple merfolk can surface.
Localisation
- There is a range of missing localisation when setting the game language to Turkish.
Tunnels of the Damned
- While travelling through the Tunnels of the Damned, losing your connection to the game and rejoining may cause visual issues, resulting in migration to the new area to fail, returning you to your starting location.
Fixed Issues
General
- Emotes which have a visual effect will now correctly display the effects in the Pirate Preview within the Pirate Emporium and Vanity Chest.
- The description for the Sea Dog Pistol and Ruffian Sea Dog Pistol has been adjusted for grammatical reasons.
- No clothing should be available in the Outfit Tab of the Pet Chest when equipping the Condemned Captain Monkey.
- Players should no longer have difficulties aiming when using the Tribute Peak or Relic of Darkness Cannons.
- Using the Relic of Darkness Wheel should no longer block the players ability to see the ships compass.
- The time remaining in the Seasons menu should now represent the correct time left.
Cannon Rowboats
- When firing a Rowboat cannon aimed to the far left or far right, the Rowboat is no longer propelled so far backwards to improve aiming at targets to the sides.
- While rowing a Cannon Rowboat, players should no longer see the "Climb into Cannon" prompt whilst looking at the cannon.
- The Cannon Rowboat’s cannons should now be seen firing correctly when being fired while docked to a ship.
Tall Tales – ‘A Pirate’s Life’
- Megalodon should no longer follow players into the Tunnels of the Damned, and players should no longer see Megalodon in the skies while inside the Tunnels.
- ’Sunken Pearl’ – When following the debris whilst swimming down, the debris should no longer pop in to view.
- ‘Captains of the Damned’ – Re-joining a session after disconnecting while in the Tunnels of the Damned should no longer cause the player to "wake up" on the Tale server with their ship at a different spawn point.
- ‘Dark Brethren’ – The statues should appear to be lit up when you join in progress during the Chamber of Sorrow fight.
Sunken Kingdom
- Siren windows can no longer be opened on the incorrect or correct sides by using explosion damage.
- The toast icon shown when picking up any Breath of the Sea should now show the correct Gem Breath of the Sea icon in the toast.
- The Treasure Merfolk should no longer spawn inside a player’s ship.
- Sharks should no longer despawn if you swim into the Shrine of Hungering's entrance.
- The emergent Siren spawning audio should no longer be heard when underwater in a Shrine.
- ‘The Shrine of Oceans Fortune’ – Players should no longer get safe teleported when climbing down the ladder in the first side room.
- ‘The Shrine of Oceans Fortune’ – Looking through Siren windows should no longer cause the fog to be invisible allowing players to see through the world.
- ‘The Shrine of Oceans Fortune’ – The air giving plants by the entrance door should no longer be missing their bubble VFX.
- ‘The Shrine of Oceans Fortune’ – Undocking from the pulley while the mast is moving should no longer cause a player’s position to get adjusted when jumping onto the mast.
- ‘The Shrine of Oceans Fortune’ – All of the pulleys inside the Twisting Mast Room should no longer be floating and should now be docked in their intended positions.
- ‘The Shrine of Oceans Fortune’ – AI should no longer spawn inside the wreckage piece inside the Treasure Room.
- ‘The Shrine of Oceans Fortune’ – The mechanisms in the Shrine should now reset correctly after leaving the Shrine and returning.
- ‘The Shrine of Ancient Tears’ – There should no longer be an invisible barrier stopping players from entering the treasure room after opening it with the pressure plates.
- ‘The Shrine of Ancient Tears’ – A range of environment and collision issues have been fixed within the Shrine.
- ‘The Shrine of Ancient Tears’ – The ambient lighting after the water pool puzzle should now fully cover the following corridor.
- ‘The Shrine of Ancient Tears’ – The entrance Siren window should no longer be able to be passed through when closed.
- ‘The Shrine of Ancient Tears’ – The water pool level should now reset to its default raised state after the Shrine has reset.
- ‘The Shrine of Hungering’ – The Siren window animations in the last chamber should now be confined to the window and no longer extend too far.
- ‘Treasury of Sunken Shores’ – The statue's mouth that fills the event room with water should now correctly animate and show as open for the full duration of the water pour.
- ‘Treasury of Sunken Shores’ – Sirens should no longer be able to attack and pass through the Siren door.
- ‘Treasury of Sunken Shores’ – The calm water zone visuals should no longer disappear after diving down then returning to the surface.
- ‘Treasury of Sunken Shores’ – Players will now have to open the Siren windows to go through them.
- ‘Treasury of Sunken Shores’ – Players should now be able to pick up all treasure items in the Vault.
- ‘Treasury of Sunken Shores’ – The Treasury should now trigger even if more than four people enter the event room.
Performance and Stability
- While playing on Steam, when using Alt+Tab to change focus between windows there should no longer be an extended freeze when leaving and returning to the game window.
- Further improvements made to server performance, reducing latency during gameplay.
