Insider Patch Notes 2.10.2.9

Insider Update 2.10.2.9 is now live. As we near the release of our April content update, this stabilisation build showcases only the features we aim to deliver later this month.

As always, if you encounter any bugs, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.

PlayStation®5

Voice Chat Notifications

  • Players on PlayStation 5 will now find that when encountering players using in-game voice chat, the name of the broadcasting player is now shown within a new indicator at the bottom of the HUD.

DualSense Balancing

  • Following Insider feedback, the intensity and fidelity of vibration caused by a range of game interactions has now been improved.

Events

Gilded Voyages

  • In this Insider update, players can once again embark on Gilded Voyages for testing purposes. By taking part in these special Voyages, players will have the chance to earn exclusive one-time Limited Gilded Voyages. These unique quests offer greater challenges and rewards for the participating Companies.

Known Issues

PlayStation®5

  • Players who have previously played on PC and have Disabled Controller Input on PC will find that they are unable to navigate through menus while on PlayStation 5. This can be resolved by returning to the PC version of Insiders and re-enabling Controller Input on PC and returning to PlayStation 5.
  • Players may experience a high frequency of Leekbeard errors when attempting to join a session on PlayStation 5.
  • Players losing a Faction battle may receive a Hazelnutbeard error and be removed from the game while travelling through the Tunnels of the Damned.
  • Players with existing friends on Xbox will only currently see Online players when summoning the In-Game friends list. This is being extended to show all Friends across platforms even when offline.
  • Players may hear other players’ in-game voice chat when they are not in proximity.

Fixed Issues

Gameplay

  • Crews diving to an experience or Faction battle should no longer encounter issues where items on board their ship become non-interactable.
  • Players should no longer experience infinite loading when opening Invite Friends menu in Guilds.
  • The Forsaken Ashes Rapier will now display the Commendation requirement to purchase it in Outpost shops.
  • The Victorious Throwing Knives Emote no longer duplicates one from the Showboater bundle.

Double Barrel Pistol

  • Players are no longer able to bypass the reload animation by sprinting after a charged shot.
  • A charged shot no longer persists after you’ve swapped weapons.
  • If a player is killed whilst charging a shot, the charged shot is no longer fired upon their death.
  • The aim sensitivity settings for the Double Barrel Pistol should now work as intended.
  • The Double Barrel Pistol no longer clips through large body types when being held in an idle pose from a third person view.
  • Hit registration has been improved, and hit markers should show more accurately when shooting single shots in quick succession.
  • Both hammers no longer remain in a charged state after charging the pistol and then letting go of LMB/RT whilst sprinting.
  • Killing someone using the charged attack with the Double Barrel Pistol will no longer cause a server crash.
  • The ammo empty click can no longer be heard after firing a single shot.
  • The charged shot camera zoom now adjusts appropriately when changing aim state between aiming and hip-fire.

Throwing Knives

  • There will no longer be any issues with wielding other items after a player throws their last knife.
  • The correct sound effect now plays when equipping throwing knives.
  • Throwing knives to longer look like they float out of a pirate’s hands when they’re about to be thrown, from a third person view.
  • A player’s arm will no longer look unnaturally twisted when aiming upwards, from a third person view.
  • Players no longer automatically switch to their second weapon when out of ammo.
  • From a third person view, female pirates’ arms will no longer disappear when walking, aiming and jumping while wielding a throwing knife.
  • ADS is no longer brolen after using a throwing knife.
  • Players will no longer get stuck in an aiming state after performing a heavy attack.
  • Players will no longer be able to throw two knives in quick succession when moving out of the aiming state.

Harpoon Tightrope

  • The tightrope prompt should now correctly show on the arrowhead of the rope.

Bone Caller

  • Spawning too many skeletons on a fort with the Bone Caller will no longer halt the spawning of Fort skeletons.
  • Skeletons will no longer spawn on a ship if the Bone Caller hits nearby surfaces, rather than the ship surface itself.

PlayStation®5

  • Added an additional message when Setting Sail from the front-end when matchmaking is taking an extended duration.
  • Players rejoining sessions with other crewmates should no longer find themselves stuck on an extended loading screen.
  • Amended various localised text to be compliant with PlayStation brand terminology.
  • Joining a Guild with more than two players no longer causes client instability.
  • Players should no longer hear in-game voice chat while on the loading screen.
  • ‘A Pirate’s Life’ - Players should no longer experience client instability when entering a battle with Ocean Crawlers during the final chapter.
  • The shadows cast from sail ropes should no longer flicker.

Visual and Audio

  • When swimming to the surface in choppy seas, the visual effects for the water and seabed will now be consistent.
  • The Captain's Key from the Lost Shipments Voyage no longer disappears when a player is holding it.

  • Changing the Skull of Destiny’s flame now has the correct visual effects from a third person view.

  • The Gold Hoarder Medallion from the Legend of the Sunken Kingdom Voyage no longer shrinks when holding it.

Text and Localisation

  • The Scorched Forsaken Ashes Rapier is no longer listed instead of the Forsaken Ashes Rapier in Outpost shops.

  • The Victorious Double Barrel Pistol has had its radial text corrected.

Performance and Stability

  • We have further improved client stability by addressing a key issue that had surfaced to us via Insiders.
