Insider Patch Notes 2.10.2.3

Insider Update 2.10.2.3 is now live. In this build, Insiders will be given the opportunity to experience a fresh collection of Gilded Voyages as well as try out some of the new weapons and features that are planned for our Season 12 update.

As always, if you encounter any bugs, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.

Events

Gilded Voyages

  • As a part of the testing process for an upcoming event, Insiders will be provided with exclusive single-use Limited Gilded Voyages. These Voyages offer enticing quests that come with heightened risks and rewards for the respective Companies involved.

Updates

Animation Quality Improvements

  • Insiders are invited to take part in a limited stress test aimed at demonstrating certain enhancements in animation quality. For detailed instructions on how to join this test, please refer to the feedback thread.

Pirate Emporium Quick Menu

  • The Pirate Emporium can now be accessed via the Quick Menu, allowing pirates to browse the Emporium at any time!

Report a Player

  • The in-game Report a Player tool has now been extended, providing players the ability to report players for Movement Exploits, Aiming Exploits and Toxic Behaviour.
  • As with all player reports, these will be referred to the Sea of Thieves Support team for investigation and follow up action.

Skeleton Ships and Megalodons

  • The frequency of emergent Skeleton Ships and Megalodons has been reduced to ensure they align more closely with their behaviour before the Season 11 update.

Known Issues

Gameplay

  • Ship damage such as holes and broken masts persists even after sinking or scuttling.
  • Players currently cannot accept a crew invite while they are in an active adventure session on Steam.

Throwing Knives

  • When the 'Reduce hold to use item' setting is active, the player is unable to use the standard melee attack and can only perform the heavy melee attack.

Fixed Issues

Gameplay

  • Resolved an issue experienced during high network traffic where players bailing from a ship would find that water would only be visually thrown from a bucket and could then be thrown a second time.
  • Get back to work! Skeletons will now busy themselves repairing damage on Skeleton Ships during battle.

Scattershot

  • The ‘Scatter Bones’, ‘Shotgun!’ and ‘Holey Wood Holes’ Commendations should unlock correctly when using the scattershot.

Harpoon Tightrope

  • Wind and smoke trail visual effects now play correctly when sliding down a harpoon tightrope.

Throwing Knives

  • The third-person walking animation will now play as intended when players are aiming a throwing knife.
  • Audio for attacking will no longer play continuously whilst holding the knife in the heavy attack position.
  • The animation for the heavy attack now plays as expected when players use the heavy melee attack underwater.
  • Knives are now dealing melee damage to AI and other players as expected, and despawn at the correct time.
  • Players are no longer able to skip the aiming animation when aiming the knife underwater.
  • Reloading ammo when the knife pouch is active but not equipped now switches the knife pouch to a throwing knife as intended.

Double Barrel Pistol

  • Shots fired will now appear from the correct place on the gun when viewed in third-person.

Bone Caller

  • The ‘Skeleton Squared’ Commendation now unlocks correctly when using the Bone Caller.

Environment

  • Players will no longer see a gap between walls in the sewers under the Captain's Head Tavern on Port Merrick.

Performance and Stability

  • Improvements to error handling, reducing the frequency of players encountering HazelnutBeard when reconnecting to the game.
