Insider Patch Notes 2.1.0.6

Ahoy Insiders, Insider Update 2.1.0.6 is now live! The new event ‘Flags of Friendship’ is now available for Insider testing, head to the special events tab to learn more about this upcoming event. For those looking to earn some coin, Doubloon rewards are available each day for crews participating in the Map Migration Technical Test.

Flags of Friendship

Introducing a new event! Having noticed lots of new visitors to the Sea of Thieves, Larinna wants to make the seas a little more welcoming for them by encouraging pirates to take out some of the more dangerous threats and form Alliances!

  • Players will be tasked with seeking out significant threats on the seas – from Krakens and Megalodons, to active Forts and Ashen Lords. Clearing these threats will reward crews with Favour, dependent on the threat defeated.
  • Additional Favour for many of these actions will be earned if crews happen to complete them while in an Alliance.
  • We will offer a long-term challenge that ticks up when players place items of loot on another crew’s ship and players will be rewarded with gold for every loot item of theirs that another crew sells.

  • The rewards players will have the opportunity to earn are a Scar, Makeup, Tattoo and two Titles.

Map Migration Technical Test

This Insider build re-enables the early technical test of Map Migration. Head to the Outpost to find a temporary Tale and venture into the ominous new rock formations to arrive at Old Sailor Isle!

Accessibility

UI Menu Narration

  • When enabling ‘Let Games Read to Me’ in platform settings, navigating through Cosmetic Chests and shop UI menus will now be narrated for improved accessibility.

Known Issues

Sirens

  • Emergent Siren battle audio can play when players go underwater at ponds or in areas of closed-off water on islands.
  • When defeating a Siren, they do not drop their appropriate Siren Gem.
  • If a player dies and respawns during an emergent Siren encounter, even more Sirens will spawn alongside the existing Sirens.
  • It is possible to interrupt Sirens when they're using their combo scratch attack.
  • Sirens and Sharks can target players who are dead waiting to be revived.
  • Sirens may get stuck in the environment.
  • When a Siren uses its disorientation attack on a ship, the ship can be launched into the air.

Trident

  • When another player is firing the last shot of the Trident, it can look a different size to other players.
  • When approaching a player who is using a Trident, it will not visually appear to show what player is doing.

Plunder Pass

  • All Shining Pegasus Weapons and the Shining Pegasus Banjo have placeholder descriptions.

Flags of Friendship

  • There is a range of placeholder text and imagery within the Flags of Friendship Event.

Localisation

  • Larinna's Bilge Rat dialogue options are missing localisation in non-English languages.
  • The Dawn Hunter set items are missing localisation in non-English languages.
  • Island names on the Map Table are missing localisation in Spanish.
  • When doing the Shroudbreaker Tall Tale, the times in Magpie's Wing Logbook are out of order when the game’s language is set to German.

Emotes

  • Changing Emotes while Emoting does not function correctly.

Fixed Issues

General

  • On PC, changing the Game Language in Accessibility Settings should now persist after the game restarts.
  • Landing a shot on a skeleton or enemy player while moving should no longer cause players to “rubberband” a few seconds later.

Sirens

  • If a Siren’s health drops to zero while it is healing, the Siren should no longer disappear and should play its death effect.

Trident of Dark Tides

  • Tridents should no longer be difficult to pick up when placed in Rowboats.
  • When a Trident is in water, the glint should now appear on the Trident itself.

Map Migration Test

  • Improved server stability when crews pass through the portal and reach Old Sailor Isle.
  • When passing through the portal, client performance should no longer drop.
  • When arriving at Old Sailor Isle, weapons and equipment should no longer appear strangely in the player's hand and should be usable if wielded before migration.
  • When returning through a portal to the Sea of Thieves, players should no longer fall through sea water.
  • Players should be able to bail water when travelling through the portal.
  • If a crew’s ship sails are down when the portal migration fails, the ship should no longer sail off without the player as they respawn.
  • Being in an Alliance should no longer cause a portal migration to fail.
  • While travelling through the portal, ladders are now disabled to prevent players from leaving their ship.
  • Portals activated by the Test Tale should now be visible only to your crew.
  • The ship’s wheel should now straighten as you enter the new world.
