Insider Patch Notes - Update 2.0.3.1

Our latest Insider build is here! In update 2.0.3.1, you’ll be able to get hands on with new quality of life improvements across the board, including a range of new accessibility options.

Alongside a barrel load of bug fixes and another Insider reward to unlock, there's plenty of reasons hop back onboard this week!

Updates

  • Crew Join & Leave – Players will now be notified if a player joins or leaves their crew.
  • Digging up Bait – Players now have a chance to find fishing bait from digging in the world. In this Insiders build, barrels continue to provide a source of fishing bait alongside digging – however our intention is to remove the opportunity to find bait in island barrels when this feature releases to retail (Sea Post barrels will continue to stock bait however as there is nowhere to dig.)
  • ‘Legendary Sea Dog’ Rebalancing – This insiders build has the unlock criteria for each grade of the ‘Legendary Sea Dog’ Commendation reduced as per our recent Developer Update. We will continue to review player data and feedback on this community hot topic.
  • ‘Shroudbreaker’ Tavern Tale Book – To reduce player frustration when accidentally starting the Shroudbreaker Tale inside the Tavern, we have begun redressing the area surrounding the Shroudbreaker Tale Book and removing the barrel. This work is slowly making its way across all outpost Taverns.
  • Support for ‘Tap to Interact’ (Accessibility) – An option has been added to the Accessibility Settings ‘Reduce Held Interactions’ which allows many ‘Hold to Interact’ actions to only require an initial Tap, players must still stay within range and wait the full duration of the action.

  • Radial Menu Support for Toggle (Accessibility) – An option has been added to the Accessibility Settings ‘Toggle Radial Menus’ which allows radial menus to be opened and closed with two separate button presses rather than a button being held and released.

  • Radial Menu Support for Sticky (Accessibility) – An option has been added to the Accessibility Settings ‘Sticky Radial Items’ which allows radial menus to stay selected when releasing the analogue stick.

  • Radial Menu Support for Keyboard Bindings (Accessibility) – All radial menu’s now support selection using number keys in addition to using the analogue stick. These keys can now also be re-binded in the Keyboard Settings page.

  • Support for Spatial Audio – Enables Spatial Audio Support for Dolby Atmos, Dolby Atmos for Headphones & Windows Sonic on supported devices.

  • Tale Summary – Previously players could press [2] or [Y] on the Tall Tales Reputation Page to view more information about a given Tale for example the location in where to begin. This ‘More Info’ functionality is now also provided when inside the Tale Summary Page.

Fixed Issues

General

  • When regenerating health from cooked food, taking damage no longer causes a delay to the health bar updating.
  • The Mega Keg now correctly shows Fuse VFX when lit underwater.
  • The Sword Dash Animation now plays when under the effects of Snake Venom and taking damage from Skeletons.
  • Floating Treasure now correctly shows the glint at distance after migrating.

  • Resolved missing collision on rock cluster in Shores of Plenty.

  • Resolved missing collision on rock cluster in Shores of Gold.

  • Gunpowder Kegs spawned under the Molten Sands Fortress watchtower can now be picked up.

  • The Wooden steps on Morrows Peak Outpost now correctly look charred.

  • Holding objects over water in caves and in the pirate hideout no longer causes a ghosted outline to be visible.

  • Resolved floating beach texture on Galleons Grave Outpost

  • Players will no longer Safe-Teleport while swimming underneath the jetty at Stephen’s Spoils.

  • Jumping with a Merchant Crate no longer causes the players left hand to disappear.

  • Crooks Hollow Waterfall VFX now appear correctly.

  • Players can no longer clip through the cannon base in Wanderers Refuge Cave Lair.

  • Feeding a pig no longer heals the player.

  • Removed plant placed inside a rock at Fetcher’s Rest.

  • Resolved missing collision on skeleton on Ashen Reaches.

  • Player can no longer force their radial to become stuck onscreen.

  • Skeleton Ships sunk solely using Gunpowder Kegs now count towards ‘Scourge of Skeleton Ships’ Commendation.

  • ‘Venomball’ Cursed Cannonballs can once again be found in barrels out in the world.

Hunter’s Call

  • Bait will no longer be seen floating in the air if a player leaves the game while wielding a rod with bait equipped.
  • Resolved a typo in Stormfish description.

Arena

  • The ‘Rum ‘n’ Bass’ achievement no longer unlocks with rival crew members.
  • Player Kill notifications will now correctly show when defeating rival players with guns.
  • The Sea Dogs Reputation pane now shows the correct number of items that are available.

  • Cannon splash damage now correctly counts towards cannon kills for the ‘Iron Sea Dog’ Commendation.

Tall Tales - Shores of Gold

  • Players will now correctly receive progress towards the Sailor of Athena’s Fortune Commendation while their crew have both an Athena’s Fortune Voyage and a Tall Tale active.
  • Items stored in a Collector’s Chest will no longer appear to pop out of the chest when opening while it is being held.

  • Puzzle Vault VFX now correctly reset after failing a Vault.

  • Collector’s Chest SFX for items held inside play correctly when spinning on the spot.

  • Approaching Skeleton Camps during Tales will now show subtitles and voices at the same distance.

  • ‘Cursed Rogue’ – Briggsy’s ‘Getting Tired’ Voice over is now correctly subtitled.

  • ‘Stars of a Thief’ – Players can no longer get stuck between puzzle blocks inside the Crab Vault.

  • ‘Art of the Trickster’ – On defeat, the Captain of the Lair will no longer drop their items inside rocks.

  • ‘Art of the Trickster’ – Players can no longer get out of the world on Sailor’s Bounty.

  • ‘Fate of the Morningstar’ – Losing a Skeleton Key now correctly states which key has been lost on the Tale Failed Banners

  • ‘Revenge of the Morningstar’ – The Morningstar outfit descriptions no longer reference 9 items of clothing in the set.

  • ‘The Shores of Gold’ – Players will no longer be able to interact with ‘Mermaid’ Statues after having finished the Tale.

  • ‘The Shores of Gold’ – Swinging Log traps now correctly connect with players when expected.

  • ‘The Shores of Gold’ – The Devil’s Shroud now correctly matches the visuals on the ships map.

  • ‘The Shores of Gold’ – Players will no longer seen to be walking above the ground outside the Compass Vault.

  • ‘The Shores of Gold’ – Players are able to redo the Compass Room Lock puzzle again once opened.

  • ‘The Shores of Gold’ – Players can no longer see through the geometry in specific areas.

  • ‘The Shores of Gold’ – The Gold Hoarder will now correctly stow his items before performing an animation.

Known Issues

  • Guardian of Athena’s Fortune Title – The ‘Guardian of Athena’s Fortune’ title made available in the Pirate Hideout is currently missing from the Shopkeepers Shop.
  • Items floating to the roof – Dropping any item near the underwater entrance to the uncharted reef caves will cause the item to float to the ceiling and become irretrievable.
  • ‘The Legendary Storyteller’ Collector’s Chest – Leaving Briggsy’s Chest behind once the wooden plank has been removed can trigger a ‘Tale Failed’ state following a server migration.

  • ‘Stars of a Thief’ Totem – After placing the Star Jewels in the statue to retrieve the totem, leaving the area and returning will cause the statue to close and the totem to be lost.

  • Sea Dogs Tavern Purchase Delays – Players who purchase an item from the Sea Dog Tavern shop shortly before migrating to a new server will not immediately see the purchase in their inventory. The purchase has been successful but will only be shown when the player returns to the tavern after their next contest.
