Insider Patch Notes 2.0.20.11

Insider Update 2.0.20.11 is now live! As we approach the launch of Season One, the feature set in this Insider’s build has been restricted to features launching in January. For those excited to get back into Festival of Fishing, this will be returning in a future Insider’s build.

Seasons

Seasons Balancing

  • Seasonal progression balancing has been updated. The amount of Renown earned through Trials has been rebalanced to ensure each Trial’s difficulty and length are taken into account when rewarding Renown.
  • All Trials now offer an amount of Renown on each Deed completed along with Renown on completing the Trial. Trials no longer provide the completion of a level, ensuring players are free to complete Trials at any point during a Season.
  • All Insider’s progress through the test Season has now been reset.

Lost Shipments Voyage

Lost Shipments Shipwrecks

  • When players find the Shipwreck, they will now see a floating flotsam on the surface of the water. 

Lost Shipments Clues

  • The probability of NPC clues has been increased and the probability of there being Sea clues has been lowered. 

Updates

Insiders Pirate Reset

  • Following the investigation and resolution of an issue causing cosmetics to not save across sessions, many Insider’s pirates were affected.
  • In order to resolve this issue ahead of our release builds for Season One, all Insider’s pirates have now been removed. Logging into the game, players will now be prompted to select a new pirate.
  • New Insider’s pirates will be granted a range of currency upon logging in, and a split of pirates will find them automatically boosted to Pirate Legend status.

Known Issues

Lost Shipment Clues

  • Clues can appear blank without the clue text.
  • The Merchant shop doesn't always have a Lost Shipment Voyage in stock at applicable levels.
  • The Message in a Bottle clue fails to migrate along with the crew when migrating servers.
  • When placing the Captain’s Key on your ship, leaving and returning will cause the Captain’s key audio to play again.
  • The Sea Clues have a different grid square after migration and no clue will be present.

Localisation

  • There are missing translations for the Champions of Souls Event in non-english languages.

Silent Barnacle Cosmetics

  • The Silent Barnacle cosmetics set are currently displaying incorrect pricing.

Fixed Issues

General

  • Players should no longer experience a long loading screen that persists until the door opens when going to the Ferry of the Damned.
  • Buying items, Voyages and Titles should no longer cause a black grid flash on the screen.
  • While Sea of Thieves is suspended, joining a game should no longer cause instability. 
  • Players will no longer be equipped with sailor items once logging into the game, and their outfits/equipment should now save across sessions.
  • When navigating the front-end, a blur effect no longer shows on your pirate.

Lost Shipments Voyage

  • Merchant Alliance representatives should now always offer a Lost Shipments Voyage.
  • Shipwrecks should no longer have a chance to spawn underneath islands and rocks.
  • The message in a bottle clues should now consistently spawn when starting a Lost Shipments Voyage.
  • Sea clues should no longer spawn inside sea rocks.
  • Showing the clue to another player should no longer cause the text to be cut off.
  • Migrating servers with an active Lost Shipments Voyage should now also migrate the Shipwreck as well.
  • NPC clues should now give the NPC name along with the island to find them on.
  • The Manifest should no longer spawn underneath the map table, causing it to be inaccessible, on the shipwreck.
  • The circle on the circle clue maps have been resized so it is no longer cut off when the clue is near the edge of the map.
  • Clues should no longer be duplicated after a server migration.
  • The Clue text should no longer change if the player dies and returns from the Ferry of the Damned.
  • Players should no longer receive a Clue Found toast after starting a Lost Shipment Voyage.
  • The Captain Skeleton on the shipwreck should no longer disappear when a player gets close to it.
  • Crews should now receive a toast notification for a crewmate picking up Captain's Key or a Manifest.  
  • The correct audio sting should now play when players get a Clue Found toast. 
  • The Trade Route maps should no longer backtrack when a sea clue follows a sea clue.

Pirate Emporium

  • The Soulflame Ship Bundle should have the correct real money pricing.
  • The Plunder Pass no longer contains placeholder iconography.

Larinna’s Black Market

  • The “Letter of Recommendation” and “Gold Pouches” should be locked after purchase each update.

Tall Tales

  • The Vault totems should no longer be sellable to the Gold Hoarders and Reaper's Bones traders.

Seasons

  • Picking up and dropping treasure can no longer generate infinite renown.
  • A number of Trial Deeds which regressed to old text descriptions are now once again corrected.
  • When receiving a Renown or Deed notification, pressing the ‘More’ button should now consistently take players to the correct Trial in the Seasons Quick Menu.
  • Handing in a range of Merchant Crates to the Merchant Alliance now reward Renown.
  • After purchasing the Plunder Pass, players should now receive their eligible rewards straight away.
  • Visiting islands now displays a notification on each visit.
  • The Seasons loading screen now displays the finalised Season rewards.
  • When cooking meat and fish, players will now continue to receive Renown after the first cook.
  • Trials of Adventure: Expert Story Seeker – Speaking to the Ferryman while outside of a Tall Tale should now progress this Deed.
  • Trials of Combat: Ghost Hunter – Handing in regular ghost skulls now progress this Deed.
  • Trials of Combat: Deadly Mercenary – Reverted previous text changes, players can progress this while handing some skulls to the Reaper’s. However, as this isn’t true for all skulls, directing players to the Order of Souls is clearer.
