Insider Patch Notes 2.0.18.9
Insider Update 2.0.18.9 is now live! Check out Larinna’s Black Market to pick up the Sea of Sands Captain and Crew costume to share with it your crew and head out on the seas with your Fate of the Damned Voyages.

Fate of the Damned
This Insider build continues to introduce work in progress elements for the Fate of the Damned feature set. For more context on this update, check out the recent

Fate of the Damned
- When doing Grace’s Voyage, she will now give you one clue instead of four.
- When talking to Umbra, she will now have new dialogue to acknowledge Duke's presence.
- Banner text has now been added to all Fate of the Damned Voyages.
- The Gold Hoarder Shovel on Dukes Voyage has now been replaced with a basic shovel and will phase in when beginning the Voyage.
- Merrick will now ask players to get his old boot before advancing the Voyage.
- Duke’s grog now has a new name and toast notification upon digging up and handing in.
- The braziers in the Graymarrow encounter will now have flames in them.
- The map fragments are now named Bilge Rat Crew Maps.
- Popup notifications have been updated to reference Bilge Rat Crew Map and ritual locations, which should now be marked with an X marks the spot.
- The text inside journals in Fate of the Damned has been updated.
- The Fate of the Damned Voyages have been moved from the Doubloon shop to the Mercenary tab for zero gold.
Challenges of the Damned
- When completing a challenge and unlocking a reward, players will receive a popup notification informing the player that they have unlocked the reward.
In-Game Event Tracking
- Within the Events Quick Menu, the Featured Events tab now holds the Challenges, Goals and Rewards for the Fate of the Damned.
- As players progress through each week’s challenges, progress will now be updated in the Events tab.
Updates
Larrina’s Black Market
- The Black Market now temporarily holds the Sea of Sands Captain and Crew Costumes at zero gold to enable Insiders to test the Captain & Crew Costume functionality.
Known Issues
Fate of the Damned
- Merrick’s Voyage – When attempting the Voyage and dying at either Castaway Isle or Fools Lagoon, players cannot progress to Graymarrow.
- Merrick’s Voyage – Players will be unable to take the Flames after migration.
- Grace and Duke’s Voyages – Graymarrow will spawn the incorrect colour skeletons during his encounter.
- Grace’s Voyage – If the player starts the Heart of Fire Tall Tale whilst on the Voyage, there will be two Grace Morrow present.
- The Braziers will become unusable if two Graymarrow spawn on the same island.
- When speaking to campaign NPCs, their contextual dialogue does not currently update as crews progress through the Voyages.
- Fate of the Damned Voyages still have placeholder text in the Black Market.
- During their onboarding Voyage, new players can encounter ambient Shadows of Fate and may be unaware of how to defeat them.
Challenges of the Damned
- Players will not be rewarded the Soulflame Cutlass when completing four of the daily challenges.
- The lighting of all beacons within a sea using a certain coloured lantern challenges do not track.
- The “Only Trying to Help” challenge does not unlock when killing a player.
Migration
- Migration causes Tall Tale NPCs to vanish from Outposts, and any dropped loot on the floor vanishes for the player.
Tall Tales
- During the Shroudbreaker Tall Tale the Ancient Chest will disappear and cause the Tale to be failed.
- During the Heart of Fire Tall Tale, if a player migrates with the Mysterious Key the Tall Tale cutscenes will no longer trigger and the player will no longer be able to progress.
Cooking SFX
- The cooking SFX on a ship does not work when a player returns from the Ferry of the Damned.
Chests
- When killing an Ashen Lord, the Ashen Chest that drops is empty.
- When Treasure Chests or Collector's Chests are placed in water, they will have an area around them where water will not show.
Fixed Issues
General
- Players should now be able to scroll down to the last option on the video settings page.
- The Hunter Figurehead, the Crab Figurehead and the Parrot Figurehead now have the correct icons when viewing them in the Ship Customization Chest.
Emotes
- Players will hear bespoke sound effects when using the Skeleton emotes from the Skeleton Emote Bundle.
- The emote icons in the Summer Emote Bundle now have final imagery.
Fate of the Damned
- Placeholder loading screens have been replaced with final artwork for Fate of the Damned.
- Graymarrow will no longer run out of ammo and stop attacking players.
- Merrick’s Voyage – If a solo player dies against Graymarrow, the Voyage is not automatically completed whilst they are on the Ferry of the Damned.
- Merrick, Larrina, The Ferryman and Duke no longer have placeholder dialog.
In-Game Event Tracking
- The Regular Events tab is no longer empty and shows active recurring events.
- The back button should now function as intended in the Events Menu.
Performance & Stability
- Improved client stability when loading into the Arena Tavern upon selecting Arena mode with Sloop Duo Open Crew.
- Improved client stability when leaving a player idle on the Ferry of the Damned for an extended duration.
