Insider Patch Notes 2.0.18.12

Insider Update 2.0.18.12 is now live! As we approach our October Update, this Insider’s build now restricts the feature set to what we are shipping with Fate of the Damned. With further fixes and changes to Fate of the Damned, grab a Voyage from Larinna and head out to thwart the ghastly threats!

If you encounter any bugs, then please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.

Fate of the Damned

Fate of the Damned Weekly Changes

Larinna now offers a single Voyage each week during the Fate of the Damned Campaign and these Voyages now align with the Challenges available to players each week:

  • Week 1 - The Search for Wild, Plentiful Shadows of Fate Voyage
  • Week 2 - The Hunt for Hidden, Ancient Shadows of Fate Voyage
  • Week 3 - In Pursuit of Prowling, Devilish Shadows of Fate Voyage
  • Week 4 – All Voyages

Ghost of Graymarrow

  • The Ghost of Graymarrow encounter at the end of a Voyage has now been rebalanced as an easier encounter to allow players of all skill levels to progress the Fate of the Damned Voyages and Challenges. The true Graymarrow challenge remains on the Fort of the Damned!
  • The Ghost of Graymarrow has a reduced knockback range, to prevent players being knocked off smaller islands during the encounter. His damage to players has been reduced along with the difficulty of his summoned skeletons and Shadows of Fate.

Voyages of the Damned

  • Bilge Rat Crews will no longer be shown with an ‘X’ on the Island Map.
  • While on a Voyage, defeating an ambush by Shadows of Fate will reward the crew with a Skull of the Damned.

Known Issues

Fate of the Damned

  • When tackling a Voyage, crews may find that the red, pink, green and white lanterns are missing from the target islands.
  • In Pursuit of Prowling, Devilish Shadows of Fate Voyage - Lanterns and Map Fragments can be found submerged below the floor so the player cannot interact with them.
  • Fate of the Damned Voyages have placeholder text in the Black Market.
  • Fate of the Damned Rewards have placeholder text in the Black Market when using non-english language settings.

Challenges of the Damned

  • When completing Challenges there will be no pop-up to show that the Soulflame Weapons have been acquired.

Migration

  • Players wearing a crew costume will sometimes have the costume unequip after migration.

Weapon Effects

  • When firing and reloading the Pistol and Blunderbuss, a flicker can be seen during the animation.
  • When firing the Eye of Reach, the audio effects do not match the reloading animations. Switching to an item can also cause the reload audio to play on the newly switched item.

Fixed Issues

General

  • Emote Names in the Radial Menu are now once again localised to non-English languages.
  • Voyage banners, notifications and Quest Maps across a range of Trading Company Voyages are now once again localised to non-English languages.
  • Subtitles used for Captain Flameheart, Gold Hoarder, Graymarrow, Ashen Lord and Captain Brigsy encounters will now display correctly.

  • When migrating servers with loot nearby, interacting with that loot after migration will now work as expected and not disappear when placed back on the ground.

  • When attempting to join a game without an invite on Steam, players will now be shown the correct notification message.

  • When playing on Korean language settings, players are once again able to offer their soul to the Ferryman to skip the revive duration.

Fate of the Damned

  • When speaking to campaign NPCs, their contextual dialogue will now update as crews progress through a Voyage.
  • When defeating another player, the ‘Only Trying to Help’ Challenge will now progress.
  • When defeating Graymarrow, the ‘From Beyond the Grave’ Challenge will now progress.
  • When completing a Bilge Rat Voyage, the ‘Voyages of the Damned’ Challenge will now progress.
  • When completing a Bilge Rat Voyage, the Face of Fear is now awarded to players.

  • On completing the Bilge Rat Voyages the correct banners will now be shown.

  • References to ‘Bilge Rat Crew Map’ have been replaced with ‘Ritual Location’ when collecting the second map during the The Hunt for Hidden, Ancient Shadows of Fate Voyage.

  • Voyage Clues picked up in the shipwreck at Morrow's Peak now appear like the other Bilge Rat Crew Maps.

  • Map Pieces should no longer be submerged in the floor and be unreachable on Castaway Isle.

  • Completing the ‘Slayer of Fate’ Challenge will no longer hide the Reward Tab in the events menu.

  • The Lanterns holding the Flames of Fate will now glow the appropriate colour.

  • When handing in the Keg to Duke or Boot to Merrick, the notification will now identify the correct number of maps received.

  • If crews migrate servers during a Bilge Rats voyage, crews should now be able to retrieve the Flame of Fate from the Skeleton lanterns.

  • When reaching the Ghost of Graymarrow during a Bilge Rat Voyage, the braziers beside him no longer have an intense light flickering effect.

Tall Tales

  • Shroudbreaker – Crews can once again retrieve the sunken Ancient Chest and progress the Tall Tale.
  • Heart of Fire – Migrating servers while holding the Mysterious Key will no longer prevent the Tale from progressing.
  • The Heart of Fire Tall Tale no longer shows ‘New’ in the Tall Tales Tab.
  • Migrating servers while on an active Tall Tale will no longer cause Tale NPCs to revert to their regular behaviour, and crews are once again able to progress their Tall Tale.

Performance & Stability

  • Improved server stability when progressing through Tall Tales.

  • Optimised a range of islands across the Devil’s Roar to improve performance.
