Gold Hoarder Wayfinder Voyage
Wayfinder Voyage
- Wayfinder Voyages are available once reaching Rank 30 with the Gold Hoarder Trading Company from any Gold Hoarder Representative in addition to Larinna's Black Market.
- This new voyage will provide players with a Wayfinder Compass, pointing players towards torn map pieces. True Hoarders unearthing all map pieces can uncover the location of a Treasure Vault Totem.
- While these Totems can be sold to the Gold Hoarders or Reapers Bones Trading Companies for a reward, the real prize is inside the Treasure Vaults they unlock…
Treasure Vaults
- With a totem in-hand, make your way to the Treasure Vault and unlock its secrets. Once unlocked the timer starts and your crew will have limited time to grab as much treasure as possible.
- With Mounds of Gold to collect, Treasure Chests, Trinkets and Medallions all up for grabs – what can you grab before time runs out? For the true prize, however, use the collected medallions to unlock the altar in the centre of the vault to reveal the Chest of Ancient Tributes.
- The vault door will slowly close as time ticks on before falling shut so make sure you are out of the vault by then as being on the wrong side of the door when the timer reaches zero will see you separated from your crew and on the Ferry of the Damned!
- After completing the Treasure Vaults, Larinna will offer players the “Ancient Vault Sails” and “Ancient Vault Tribute Sails” as rewards.
Mysterious Notes
When waking from a grog-fuelled stupor at the start of a session, players may now find mysterious notes left beside them as they slept. Follow these notes to be directed to the various activities across the Sea of Thieves with each Content Update.
Mysterious Notes provides a dynamic way to direct players towards in-game activities, this initial Insider test is a purely functional test of the systems behind the scenes and not indicative of what activities will be shown once released.
Quest Radial
- After waking, check the Mysterious Notes section of the quest radial for any new notes available.
- On Tuesday, Insiders will initially find a Merchant Alliance Note directing them to visit the Merchants for supplies.
- On Wednesday, Insiders will then receive an Order of Souls Note directing them to the Order of Souls Representative.
Pirate Emporium
Extended Sale!
- The Ashen Winds Emporium Sale has now been extended! With discounts on ship collections, pets and outfits, emotes and even the potassium packed Cronch Weapons there’s sure to be something for every pirate!
Updates
Loot Haul Memory Saving
- When collecting excessively large amounts of different loot in a single place, the game will now reach a threshold where it will begin to optimise performance.
- Once the threshold has been passed, some items will now be visually replaced with a lower memory cost version of the same item. Items are chosen depending their cost and distance to players.
- When enough memory is available for use items will return to their original visuals.
Skeleton Ships
- Following Insider feedback, the health of skeletons manning the Skeleton Ships has now been returned to their original values.
Accessible UI Navigation
- A new option has been added to the Accessibility Settings; ‘Circular Navigation’.
- Once enabled, when navigating any UI menu and reaching the end of a section – you will now wrap around and return to the beginning. Scrolling off the bottom of a list of settings will now return to the top, navigating off the right of a shop grid will now return to the left side of the grid.
Known Issues
Treasure Vaults
- After opening a Treasure Vault, dying can cause the Vault doors to close and you to become stuck.
- When uncovering a Treasure Vault as part of a Wayfinder Voyage, crews currently participating in a Tall Tale may find their Vault is in use and be unable to progress the Tale.
Mysterious Notes
- When completing a Mysterious Note’s criteria, it will not ‘complete’ and will stay in the Quest Radial.
- When waking from the table at the start of a session the old animation will still be used
- Mysterious Notes currently use a range of placeholder assets.
Digging
- Certain loot items will start floating into the sky after digging them up.
Multiple World Events
- If no one is participating in an active Ghost Ship encounter, the encounter is abandoned when the Fort is completed.
Loot Haul Memory Saving
- When reaching the item threshold, items will currently swap to placeholder low cost items. All Chests for example will appear as Castaway Chests once the threshold has been reached.
