Insider Patch Notes 2.0.17.2
Insider Update 2.0.17.2 is now live, and the Pirate Emporium is back with new and exciting items available for purchase! Grab a playful pup and deck out your ship with the spectacular Sea of Sands Set. Sit back and relax with new emotes or head out to battle - which encounter will you choose?
Note that we are also granting 7800 Ancient Coins directly to Insider accounts in order to help test Pirate Emporium content for this build. These will appear when you next sign into the Insider client.

Pirate Emporium
Who let the dogs out? You, you-you-you! Three new loyal friends are now available from the Pirate Emporium.
You like dogs?
- Head to the Pirate Emporium to collect your loyal companion, with 3 breeds to choose from: the wolf-like Alsatian, the confident Inu and the lively Whippet.
- Pamper your pirate pooch and dress them up ready for their adventures out on the seas. What outfit will you choose? The Kraken, Bilge Rat and Sovereign Outfits are available for all breeds and Pirate Legends can even purchase the Legendary outfit for their new friend.
Alsatian Sovereign Bundle
- For this month only, players can pick up a discounted bundle with a feisty Alsatian and a new Sovereign outfit.
Dog Bundle
- Can’t decide which dog you love more? Want to give them ALL a home? We have a bundle for you! You can get all three breeds of dog along with a fetching Bilge Rats outfit for a discounted price!
Sea of Sands Ship Collection
- Adorn your ship with the new exquisite Sea of Sands ship collection, complete with a gem encrusted collector’s figurehead and luminous collector’s sails!
- A Sea of Sands Ship Bundle is also on offer which includes all the regular ship cosmetics at a discount!
Sea of Sands Weapons
- Take to the seas with the finest display of exquisite weaponry for all to see, as they stare deeply into the shiny blue gems proceed to cut them down.
Sea of Sands Captain and Crew Set
- The Sea of Sands Captain and Crew Bundle contains a range of themed costumes along with a way to share them with your crew!
- Purchasing the bundle will unlock the Captain Costume exclusively available to you, along with 3 Crew Costumes which will appear in your Clothing Chest along with anyone playing in your crew.

Summer Emotes
- Enjoy your warm Summer days with these new emotes, sit back, and relax with the Cocktail, Banana Eyes and Summer Reading emotes or suffer the consequences and take whiff with the Hot and Stinky emote.
Updates
Multiple Active World Events
- Multiple world events can trigger at the same time - expect to find Ghost Ship battles alongside Skeleton Forts and even Ashen Lords!
Voice Translation
- A new option has been added to the Accessibility Settings; ‘Translate Other Players’.
- Once enabled, when players from different regions are speaking you will continue to hear their voice, additionally their speech will now be translated to your language and displayed as text in the notification window.
Known Issues
Dogs
- When previewing dogs in the Pet Chest or Pirate Emporium they do not sit correctly in the preview window.
Ship Flag
- The Ship Flag Box cannot currently be interacted with.
Pirate Emporium
- The Pirate Emporium currently contains a range of placeholder imagery.
The Sea of Sands Crew Costumes are not currently distributed to your crew’s clothing chests.
The Pirate Emporium Emotes are currently work in progress, we’ve identified a range of animation issues across the various body types.
Fixed Issues
General
- When picking up a Chest of a Thousand Grogs, the drunken audio effects should no longer persist for you or other players when released.
- After becoming a little short sighted in a previous update, skeletons wielding ranged weapons can once again hit sprinting players when they want to.
- When a Skeleton Fort and Ghost Ship encounter is active simultaneously, the fort will no longer be deactivated after completing the Ghost Ship encounter.
- Cannonballs fired below the waterline or through a wave now correctly deal damage rival ships on impact.
Tall Tales
- When voting on a Tall Tale, crews are once again able to vote on a voyage and have both active at the same time.
Accessibility
The ‘Automatically Float in Water’ and ‘Locking Interaction Prompts in View’ settings now persist between sessions.
When ‘Let Games Read to Me’ is enabled the loading screen tips will now be read out.
Dogs
When stroking a dog, their face should no longer clip into your arm.
When dogs urinate on a moving ship their pee now sprays onto the ship, rather than into the wind.
Steam
- Switching to windowed display no longer hides the window.
