Insider Patch Notes 2.0.16.7

Insider Update 2.0.16.7 is now live - chase down the fiery tornado in the hunt for the Ashen Lords and wield the power of the Ashen Winds Skull to scorch enemies and their ships!

If you encounter any bugs, then please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.

Ashen Lords

  • Ashen Lord

  • Flintlock-wielding skeletons removed from Ashen Lord encounters.

  • Ashen Winds Skull

  • Visual effects added indicating the skull’s current charge level.

  • Skull may misfire to indicate that charge level is low.

  • Underwater visual effects added.

Updates

  • Sail Length – References to “Sail Hoist” on sail interaction points and the pirate chat radial menu have been changed to “Sail Length”.
  • Skeleton Fort Waves – New waves of skeletons appear much faster after the horn is sounded.

  • Custom Server Alpha – Custom Server option added to front-end menu alongside the ability to ‘Join a Session’. Note: As discussed in a recent developer update, we are preparing our Alpha release of Custom Servers to initial creators within the Insiders Programme. While all Insiders will have access to the Join Session options, only pre-selected content creators and groups will have access to the Create Session options.

Known Issues

  • Ashen Winds Commendations

  • Stats are not firing for the Ashen Winds commendations.

  • Ashen Wins Skull Sail will not unlock after earning the “Hunter of the Ashen Winds” commendation.

  • Ashen Lord Rewards – Killing an Ashen lord in an area that has no dig spots will prevent loot from spawning.

  • *Ashen Lord Animation *– After dying and returning from the Ferry of the Damned, the Ashen Lord may not move or perform ability animations.

  • Ashen Lord Skull Pile – During the opening ritual to an Ashen Lord encounter, the Ashen Lord model may remain a pile of skulls if approached too quickly.

  • Ashen Winds Skull – Firing then aiming the skull causes it to move to the player's head in 3rd person view.

  • Shanty Selection – Instruments may be silent when played.

  • Placeholder Artwork – There is currently a range of placeholder artwork.

  • Ashen Lords Encounter – The summoning ritual is missing effects for players joining in-progress or viewing from a distance.
