Insider Patch Notes 2.0.14.5

Insider Update 2.0.14.5 is live and both Ghost Ships and Ashen Lords are back! Sail out on to the seas towards the ship or skull-shaped clouds to show off your skills in battle against these eerie enemies!

Ghost Ships

  • Ghost Ship Balancing – Ghost ship shot selection has been rebalanced to provide a more consistent experience across all ship types and allow crews to recover from mistakes during the battle. Canons on Ghost Ships now have a slightly longer shot cooldown timer. In addition, there will now be 11 ships in the final wave of the encounter.
  • Ghost Ship Movement – Ghost Ships will now have a chance of following a more irregular path around the encounter island, making their movements harder to predict.
  • Ghostly Ship Mines – Ghost Ships will now check for player ships behind them in a wider radius before dropping mines. This will make mines more common in the encounter.
  • Flaming Phantom Cannonballs – The firebombs launched by Ghost Ships have been replaced by flaming phantoms. These flaming phantom’s set fire to your ship, so make sure to have a bucket of water nearby!

Trading Company Emissaries

  • Harpooning Emissary Flags – Players will now be able to harpoon Emissary Flags from the water.
  • Grade 5 Merchant Alliance Emissary Quest – Grade 5 Merchant Alliance Emissary Quests are now split into two maps. We have done this to give the quest more variety!

Updates

  • Ferry of the Damned Armory - There is now an armoury on the Ferry of the Damned allowing you to change your equipped weapons before respawning.
  • Shark Hunter Ship - The previously unavailable Shark Hunter Cannon, Capstan and Wheel are now purchasable at the Shipwright for 49,000 gold each, allowing players to complete the Shark Hunter set.
  • Ritual Skull Balancing – Access to Ritual Skulls has now been rebalance and Ritual Skull voyages have now been limited to one purchase per month. Ritual Skulls now also have a chance to be found from Skeleton Orders dropped by emergent Skeleton Captains. 
  • Skeleton Captain Rewards - Emergent Skeleton Captains that drop riddle maps should now reward players with a collector’s chest containing various loot.

Known Issues

  • Static Ghost Ships – If you leave the area during a formation wave ghost ships may appear static.
  • Tall Tales Checkpoints – Players can start a new Tall Tale using the Tall Tale books even when they have an active checkpoint.
  • Placeholder Imagery – There is a still a range of placeholder imagery across Loading Screens and Pirate Emporium awaiting final artwork.

Fixed Issues

General

  • Sound will no longer become distorted an increased in volume when a player surfaces from water or is briefly submerged in wave.
  • Players should no longer become permanently stuck as a Green Skeleton when loading into the game or returning from the Ferry of the Damned, this effect will continue to be seen initially while the player loads in however should no longer become permanently stuck.
  • The ‘Allow Friends to join me’ setting will now persist between sessions.
  • Tavern Fireplace VFX no longer flicker from time to time.
  • Player's joining the other players will no longer occasionally see graphical artifacts if they are due to start the company onboarding tutorial.
  • The player choices when talking to Sudds' will no longer be surrounded by quotation marks.
  • The Ashen Lord Encounter no longer spawns on Crook's Hollow.
  • The Emissary tables will now display a ship if an Emissary crew migrates onto the server.
  • Reaching Rank 50 in the Reapers Bones Trading company now counts towards Pirate Legend.
  • The order of the cosmetic items purchasable in the Athena's Fortune Ghost and Pirate legend shops has been changed to be alphabetical. 

Ship Map Markers

  • If the player turns off the map table icons whilst hovering over a Tale the tooltip interaction will no longer remain for the player.
  • Players will no longer see the 'Toggle tooltip' while another player is using the table.
  • Switching to the other side of the map no longer causes the 'Toggle tooltip' to be on constantly.

Tall Tales

  • During ‘The Seabound Soul’ Tall Tale the failure banner is no longer missing ornaments if tail is failed by losing Flameheart's skull.
  • The checkpoint voyage card will now be visible if the player cancels and restarts a tale.
  • Tooltip text language has been changed from saying ‘Voyage’ to ‘Quest’ 
  • Tooltip text language has been changed from saying ‘Tale’ to ‘Tall Tale’ 

Duke’s Black Market

  • Duke's welcome text is no longer placeholder.
  • When speaking with Duke there will no longer be placeholder text.
  • The Aristocrat cosmetics in Duke's shop now show the correct text.
