Insider Patch Notes 2.0.14.4
Insider Update 2.0.14.4 is now live, containing all the recent balancing changes released to retail this week, along with the introduction of Duke’s Black Market! As we are approaching the release of our May update, we have now restricted the feature set to those intended to ship with it. Don’t Worry though, Ghost ships and Ashen Lords will be back soon!
If you do encounter any bugs, then please head to the
Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.
Black Market
While the Trading Companies ramp up their recruiting efforts and defend against the introduction of the Reaper’s, Duke is happy to take a load off, share a grog or five in the tavern and of course, continue to stock the Black Market with new items for your hard-earned coin!
- Aristocrat Equipment – This month, feel more aristocratic as you head out on the seas. Purchase the Aristocrat Fishing Rod, Lantern, Compass, Spyglass, Shovel, Bucket, Speaking Trumpet, Tankard and Pocket Watch for Doubloons!
- Nightshine Parrot Clothing – Things are about to get hairy... err feathery out on the seas! For Gold, acquire the Nightshine Parrot Eyepatch, Hook, Pegleg, Trousers, Gloves, Belt and Boots!
Emissary Ledgers
- Emissary Leaderboards – If a player has not earned any points and therefore is not ranked on the ‘Global Leaderboard’ then it will be hidden and the ‘Top 10 leader board’ will be shown instead.
Trading Company Emissaries
- Cashing In Emissary Flags – Gold and Reaper’s Bones Reputation earned when cashing in Emissary Flags at the Reaper’s Hideout have now been rebalanced. Although higher-grade Emissary Flags now award less gold and reputation, lower-grade Emissary Flags award more.
- Reaper’s Bones Reputation – While Reaper’s Chests and Reaper’s Bounties remain unchanged, the reputation earned when cashing in all other treasure with The Reaper’s Bones has now been reduced.
- Ending an Emissary Session – The gold and Company reputation awarded when ending an Emissary session via the voting table has now been reduced across all Emissary Grades and Trading Companies.
- Reaper’s Bones Emissary Grade Progression – As a Reaper’s Bones Emissary, acquiring loot will be slightly less effective at advancing Emissary Grade. However, acquiring other crews’ Emissary Flags and defeating other Emissaries remains as effective as ever.
- Athena’s Fortune Emissary Grade Progression – As an Emissary for Athena’s Fortune, crews will now be required to perform more actions to advance their Emissary Grade.
- Athena’s Fortune Emissary Quest – The Athena’s Fortune Emissary Quest earned at Grade 5 will now require crews to sail for longer distances to earn their legendary rewards.
- Emissary Quest Icons - Emissary Quests in the Quest Radial will now have a bespoke icon next them.
Updates
- Ship Map Marker Audio - Sound effects have been added when hovering over, opening and closing the tale cards on the Galleon’s Ship Map
- Animation Quality Graphics Setting – A new graphics setting has been added for PC, allowing players to adjust the animation quality for characters across the game. On higher spec machines, this will provide a smoother experience when multiple players or enemies are on screen at any one time, however higher settings may impact CPU performance.
Known Issues
- *‘Art of the Trickster’ Tall Tale *– When voting in chapter 3 of the “Art of the Trickster” Tall Tale the Keg can explode immediately on spawn.
- Merchant Alliance Rank 5 Voyage – The delivery date for the Rank 5 Merchant Voyage is always 1 day in the past.
- Emissary Ship Table – Emissary tables do not add a ship if an emissary crew migrates onto the server
- Cannon VFX – The smoke VFX from the Cannon Fire appears larger than normal.
- ‘Shores of Gold’ Tall Tale - In the Compass Vault medallions disappear or rotate horizontally.
