Insider Patch Notes 2.0.13.6
Insider Update 2.0.13.6 now live, and Ghost Ship encounters are back! Head out onto the sea towards the ship cloud and try your luck against the haunted fleet. We’re also introducing updates to Tall Tales checkpoints, so be sure to check those out and let us know what you think!

Trading Company Emissaries
- Reapers Bones Rewards – Players can now unlock the Reapers Capstan, Hull, Flag and Wheel as they progress through the Reapers Bones Trading Company.
- Emissary Alliance – When in an Alliance as an Emissary, handing in an Emissary flag only grants Gold and reputation to your crew and not to your Alliance.
- Emissary Grade Progression - Gunpowder Kegs now award less Emissary Grade progression.
Ghost Ships
- Ghost Ship Captains – Captains of the Fleet will now drop Ghostly Cannon Ball Crates on defeat which contain Phantom and Wraith Cannon Balls! Two new devastating, ghost themed ammunition types to employ against your foes. Please note that the Wraith Cannon Ball representation is placeholder and appears as a large ghostly skull! This will be changed with future iteration.
- Ghost Ship Audio - An audio pass has been performed on various parts of the Ghost Ship encounter to ensure Spawn, Sailing and Combat audio are playing the appropriate effects for this haunted encounter.
- Ghost Ship Encounter - When firing a volley at a player ship, the Ghost Ships cannon fire will now feel more natural with both high and low shots with varying accuracy from the encounter.
- Ghost Ship Rewards - After defeating an emergent Ghost Ship encounter, the rewards now have appropriate Non-Verbal Phrases.
Tall Tales Checkpoints
Tall Tale Checkpoints allow players to save progress and pick up again in a new session!
Checkpoint Voyages will currently take up a slot in your voyages tab, however future Insider builds will see this transition into their own tab to free up voyage space.
- *Tall Tale Checkpoints ‘Wild Rose *– The ‘Wild Rose’ Tall Tale now supports checkpoints. Head to Madame Olive at Sanctuary Outpost to begin the checkpoint-enabled version of this Tall Tale.
- *Tall Tale Checkpoints ‘Fate of the Morningstar *– The ‘Fate of the Morningstar’ Tall Tale now supports checkpoints. Head to the Ferryman on The Ferry of the Damned to begin the checkpoint-enabled version of this Tall Tale.
- Tall Tale Checkpoints ‘Revenge of the Morningstar’ – The ‘Revenge of the Morningstar’ Tall Tale now supports checkpoints. Head to Sandra at Dagger Tooth Outpost to begin checkpoint-enabled version of this Tall Tale.
Updates
- Athena’s Run Voyage - Following your feedback, the cost of the Athena's Run voyage in the Black Market has been reduced to 50 doubloons.
- Text-To-Speech & Speech-To-Text Settings – Within the game’s accessibility settings, players can now control the configuration of Text-To-Speech, Speech-To-Text and Let Games Read To Me. Previously only configurable within the Xbox platform, these in-game settings now override that platform selection.
Fixed Issues
General
- Animals will now drop food when killed.
- Players no longer need to exit then board their ship again for prompts to trigger after dying.
- Using the scroll wheel in the settings menu now works.
- When viewing the Sabre Wulf and Collectors sails in the ship customisation chest, they will display their own icons.
- Firebombs will now do impact damage as well as the fire status effect to members of your crew.
Ghost Ships
- The audio for Ghost Cannonballs will no longer remain in place after the ship has fired them.
- You can no longer do damage to Ghost Ships using the Harpoon.
Trading Company Emissaries
- In the Athena’s Fortune Ledger Reward list the Tier 2 and Tier 3 icons are now listed in the correct order.
- Regular skeletons will now give Emissary grade progression when killed if the player is representing as an Order of Souls Emissary.
- When viewing another ship on the horizon, they should no longer appear to have an Emissary flag silhouette when not representing as an Emissary.
- When completing a riddle step as a Gold Hoarder Emissary you will no longer be rewarded Emissary Grade progression for each player in your crew.
- The Gold Hoarders Emissary flag is now visible when equipping it on a Brigantine.
- The Fearless Reaper commendation now unlocks when meeting the correct criteria.
- Cargo Run Crates now advance Emissary grade when delivered, the amount of which is dependent on timeliness, damage to the cargo and if it’s a Devil Roar variant or not.
Reviving
- Revive visual effect no longer stay attached to a player after they have been revived.
- When being revived, your body should no longer disappear and reappear through repeated revive attempts.
- When you are revived your ghost will no longer stop mid-air when returning back to your body.
- Dying during the Maiden Voyage no longer causes your game to crash.
- Dying in close proximity to someone who was killed before you no longer causes the cord between you and your ghost to disappear early.
- If you die in while being held by The Kraken, it will now release you.
After a player has been revived, they will be able to begin movement and regain health as soon as they've stood up.
Tall Tales
- ‘Heart of Fire’ – Players no longer get stuck on a pile of skulls next to the middle door.
- ‘Heart of Fire’ – Players will no longer be unable to progress through the trap rooms due to barrels not re-spawning Firebombs after a previous crew. Barrels will respawn Firebombs when a new crew enters the radius.
- ‘Stars of a Thief ‘– Picking up the Totem in the ‘Stars of a Thief’ Tall Tale no longer causes the notes next to the statue disappear.
Arena
- Smoke from a burning ship no longer overlaps the beacon beam.
- Jittery VFX on Beacon has been amended when the chest is on a ship or being carried by a player.
- The location of the chest no longer shows to be at the centre of the map but at the location of the actual dig site.
Crew Status Nameplates
- The Crew Status icon will no longer remain by a player’s nameplate if they pick up a keg, it blows up and they die.
- When a keg blows up in your hands, the Treasure icon will no longer persist after revival.
- If a player is holding treasure and migrates the Treasure Icon will no longer stay on their nameplate even when they drop the treasure.
- If a player performs a timer action and they migrate, the icon will no longer persist after migration.
- Crew status nameplates no longer get reset after quitting and reloading the game.
- While in an Arena Contest, some icons will remain on a player's nameplate if the Contest ends while the icon is active.
- Being docked to a part of your ship no longer causes you to lose your nameplate activity icon after migrating.
Known Issues
- Reaper’s Bones Popups - When handing in some Items to the Reaper’s Bones there will be incorrect or missing popups.
- Order of Souls Bounties - Skeleton Bounties from the Order of Souls voyages currently do not spawn on islands after starting the voyage, the Bounty Map is also blank.
- Emissary Grade 5 Voyages - When reaching Emissary Grade 5 for the Gold hoarders, Order of Souls or Merchant Alliance players are currently unable to purchase the High Value reward voyage from the respective Trading Company.
- Reaper’s Bones Commendations - The Reaper's Bones commendations are not being ticked when completed
- Merchant Alliance - Voyage related cargo can be handed in at any outpost for full gold reward and progress.
