Insider Update 3.7.2.4 is now live. This build introduces the new Season Pass and Season Pass: Premium Tier for Insiders to test, along with new stock for the Outpost shops which will be arriving in June.
If you encounter any bugs while playing in Insiders, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and report an issue with our Player Support team.
Season Pass
The Season Pass now offers 50 levels of Renown to progress through, providing a set of rewards for players to earn at every 5-level Tier. Every Tier, players can earn: Doubloon Pouches, playable Voyages and a choice of cosmetic rewards direct from the Pirate Emporium.
Progressing through to level 50 will reward players with the Season’s Star Prize, a highly desirable cosmetic for dedicated players who complete the Pass.
Players who complete the Season Pass but do not claim their rewards will find that their rewards are automatically granted at the end of the Season.
While the Season Pass will offer the ability to purchase a limited amount of level skips each Season, this is not available in this Insider build for testing.
Insiders have been granted Ancient Coins and will be boosted to Renown level 31 to facilitate testing of the Season Pass and Premium Tier.
Season Pass: Premium Tier
The Premium Tier is the new name for the Plunder Pass, and each Tier offers Ancient Coins and exclusive new ship cosmetics. Premium Tier players completing the Season will earn a total of 1000 Ancient Coins for purchases in the Pirate Emporium or to purchase next Season’s Premium Tier!
Players purchasing the Premium Tier will receive a 30% boost to the Renown earned during the Season, increasing all progress earned through the Season Pass.
Earning Seasonal Renown
Crews will now earn Renown from more deliberate actions at sea, such as completing Voyages, Tall Tales, World Events and selling any Treasure discovered. Exploration and Fishing will also continue to reward Renown in small amounts.
Crews can also earn Renown for taking down others at sea by sinking Emissary Ships or diving to Faction battles.
Pirates joining in the festivities during the Bilge Rats Weekenders can also earn Renown.
New Items – Now in Stock!
Double Barrel Pistol Improvements
Improvements to the Double Barrel Pistol have been made to address inconsistencies when stashing, reloading and restocking ammo.
After firing the first shot, attempting to reload and then stashing or switching out the Double Barrel Pistol will now consistently bring the weapon back to a ‘ready to fire’ state when it is reequipped, so the second shot can be quickly fired. Previously, players would be forced to reload before being able to fire.
Players who have stashed the Double Barrel Pistol after firing the first shot will now also find that after restocking ammo, the weapon will now still be ‘ready to fire’ when reequipped. Previously after restocking, players would be forced to reload before being able to fire.
After firing the first shot, players with the Double Barrel Pistol equipped will now find that when restocking ammo the weapon remains ‘ready to fire’ and no longer forces a reload. Players will now be required to reload manually, but can now choose to do that at a time that suits them during combat.
Retrieving Supplies from Vendors
Further improvements have been made to supplies purchased from the Merchant Alliance or Hunter’s Call, with the goal of providing a more consistent delivery of all items when retrieving them from vendors.
When retrieving multiple items, each one now arrives after a short delay with both audio and visual effects when placed down.
Season Pass and Season Pass: Premium Tier
Purchasing the Premium Tier from the Emporium currently causes players to become stuck in a black screen. As a temporary work around, players should purchase the Premium Tier from the Season Pass Page.
