Insider Patch Notes 2.0.12.5

Insider Update 2.0.12.5 is now live. With our March update right around the corner, this will be our final Insider build for this release. Head to Duke to grab an Athena’s Run Voyage or meet Tallulah at the Charred Parrot on Morrow’s Peak Outpost to begin the Heart of Fire!

Updates

  • Improved Controller UI Accessibility – To improve accessibility when using a controller, controller face buttons shown within the UI now have revised iconography to improve colour contrast.
  • Athena’s Run Voyage Cost – Following Insider feedback, the cost of the Athena’s Run voyage has been reduced from 99 Doubloons down to 50 Doubloons.

Fixed Issues

General

  • The Blunderbomb will no longer deal twice the amount of damage to skeletons when landing a direct hit. 
  • Successfully completing an Ashen Ship battle will once again reward players with Ashen Collector’s Chests.
  • When sailing, the Chest of Rage will now become enraged and eventually explode when struck by a player repeatedly.
  • Players firing themselves out of the Ocean Crawler or Deep Ocean Crawler Cannons will no longer result in landing back on the ship.
  • The Skeleton Captain's Chest can once again be sold to Trading Company representatives.
  • Voyages gained from a Lore Book can now be started from the Captain’s Table.
  • ‘Shores of Gold’ - After voting on the Quest Book, Grace will no longer appear to duplicate during the intro cutscene.

Athena’s Run

  • Duke's head no longer rotates unnaturally as players move around him.
  • The Masked Stranger is once again accepting Humble Gifts, Generous Gifts and Villainous Skulls.
  • Placeholder imagery now replaced with final artwork.

Arena

  • In Arena, opening up Stitcher Jim's lair on Liar's Backbone will no longer cause you to fall through the environment.
  • Players should no longer gain Silver during a contest when ‘accidentally’ killing a crewmate with an explosive.

Heart of Fire

  • The puzzle located on Liars Lair will now reset after another crew completes it.
  • Devil's Thirst - Quest Book - Using a Quest Book on this island will cause a performance spike.
  • Reading a Tall Tale Lorebook now updates the associated Commendations.
  • Player should no longer get safe teleported when in the pool of water at the end section of the left trap run.
  • Players should no longer be able to bypass part of Fireheart's Lair by sword dashing over stalagmites.
  • Players should no longer fall through the lava in certain sections and fall through geometry.
  • The skull triggers and door in the cage room will now reset correctly.
  • Using the Mermaid at the Catacombs exit will no longer cause players to bypass the Catacomb music trigger.
  • Chalice flames are now visible whenever lit by players and other crews.
  • Player should no longer be safe teleported when walking near the flame engraving.
  • The large rock after the steppingstones should now have collision, preventing players from falling into terrain.
  • The exit run fight room music zone should no longer be heard overlapping the entrance to the catacombs.
  • Subtitles will be missing for Flameheart's voice over in the final scenes.
  • 'Bye, bye Blackwyche' lorebook is now placed correctly within the terrain.

Pirate Emporium

  • When equipping an outfit to a pet, they will now correctly equip the outfit to the variant selected in the Pet Chest.
  • Players firing themselves out of the Royal Sea Squirrel Cannons will no longer result in landing back on the ship.
  • The Coin Toss emote now has consistent pricing across Sale and Pirate tabs.

Known Issues

  • Heart of Fire Dialog Localisation – Localised subtitles in Tall Tales dialog are currently cut off in certain languages.
  • Heart of Fire Skeleton Pathing – In some fight locations, players are able to hide out of the range of skeletons and be unable to be attacked.
