There is only one way to start this tale, visit the Ferryman on the Ferry of the Damned to begin this Tale.

  • Arena - Issues with level of detail on the banister next to the cannon have been fixed.

  • Arena – Animations for contest end banners now display correctly.

  • Arena – The textures on the bottom shelf above the Sea Dog’s Tavern door have been fixed.

  • Arena – Player cameras will no longer rotate when firing themselves out of the cannon in the Sea Dog’s tavern.

  •  Arena – Issue that caused the outside of the Sea Dog’s Tavern to be visible if a player stood at the top of the canopy has been fixed.

  • Issue that caused players to become permanently stuck if migration was triggered whilst they were fishing has been fixed.

  • Icons for burnt food now display correctly.

Known Issues

  • Tall Tales: Shores of Gold – Players reaching the Shores of Gold may experience significant framerate drops when using high shadow detail settings on Xbox One X & PC. As a workaround for this build reduce your Shadow detail below ‘Rare’.
  • Tall Tales: Shores of Gold – Players reaching the Shores of Gold may experience various missing VFX in the environment and on player/skeleton actions. We are currently investigating this issue for resolution in an upcoming update.
  • Tall Tales: Shores of Gold – Players who lose their ship while parked up at the island and use the mermaid can spawn inside the subterranean caverns bypassing part of the Tale.
  • Tall Tales: Shores of Gold – After completing all puzzle vaults, players who are outside of a specific range when medallions are being placed into the Compass Vault may not be able to see all of them.

  • If a crew dies while fighting a Skeleton Lord and they reset the encounter, the Skeleton Lord’s health will also reset.

  • Large areas of the game are still awaiting localisation ready for release on April 30th .

  • Arena -  Players who join contests late will see their crew’s score as 0 until the crew loses or gains points.

  • Arena – Placements and scores on the scoreboard may sometimes update slowly when large numbers of points are being scored in quick succession. As a result, crew placement will appear incorrect for brief moments.

  • Death Camera – When you are defeated in the Arena you will now fall to your knees and your camera will slowly spin above and away from your body. This feature is specific to arena to help crews communicate during death.
  • Removal of Ghost Ship - Due to the new arena death flow we have removed the ghost ship from the arena. When players are defeated in the arena, they will no longer be sent to the Ghost Ship and be required to walk through the door to return, bringing you back to the action sooner.

  • Environment Sword Comboing - When striking with your sword, hitting the environment will no longer trigger a 3-hit combo chain.
  • Something on the Horizon - You may notice a mysterious landmass beyond the Devil’s Shroud. A new island or something more sinister, perhaps?
  • Feeling chatty? – You will hear new dialogue lines when interacting with specific characters.
  • Merging Reward Notifications - When cashing in multiple treasure at once, UI toast popups will now combine the rewards and show a single popup rather than queuing them individually.
  • Voyage Voting - With the introduction of Tall Tales, crews can venture out with both a current Voyage and a Tall Tale active at the same time. Once started these can be found and cancelled from the Captain's Table.
  • Harpoon - After all the waiting, the Shipwrights have finally delivered the Harpoons we ordered! Each Ship now has two Harpoons fitted in the recesses on the bow; latch onto rival crews in the heat of battle or onto the environment for some advanced sailing tactics. This initial build delivers the base functionality, reeling-in objects coming soon!
  • Grab those Barrels! - Harpoons can now latch onto floating barrels found out at sea and will automatically pull them to the ship to be raided for resources, before being dropped back into the sea.
  • Get that Treasure! - Harpoons can now latch onto Treasure of any type (Chests, Skulls, Crates, etc.) whether floating out at sea, or placed on islands. When latched they will automatically pull them to the ship to be collected by your crew.
  • I’m really bad at this - Harpoons when fired now have a small aim assist to help players hit their target, this is especially helpful when trying to steal a chest out of another players hands!
  • Harpoon the Keg! - Harpoons will now explode gunpowder barrels on first hit. Hitting kegs carried by players will also cause them to explode!
  • Harpoon Players – Latching onto a crewmate or rival player with the harpoon now retracts them back to your ship.
  • Harpoon Retraction Speed – Reduced the speed in which harpoons can retract once latched on.
  • Harpoon Spinners – Harpoons now have spinners attached to better visualise the spooling and reeling of the rope.
  • Feel the impact – We’ve added more tactility to using harpoons. You’ll now feel a rumble when a Harpoon impacts and a camera shake when re-docking the harpoon projectile.
  • Spools of war – The spool of the harpoon launcher now rotates with the movement of the rope.
  • Harpoon Audio – Attached various Harpoon audio effects to improve the player feedback when using the Harpoon.
  • **Fruit & Meat – **With the expansion of various different culinary delights available to pirates, both Fruit and Meat have had their health balanced across the range. You’ll find your trusty Banana now is less satisfying, however more rare fruits return a large amount of health.
  • Health Regeneration – With Fruit replenishing a base level of health, you’d expect a nice cooked piece of meat to do much more right? Cooking the perfect steak will provide players with a period of health regeneration, this is shown as a ring around your health bar in the bottom left corner. Now you can stock up with various meats while out on your voyage and then cook up a meal before engaging in battle for that extra edge on your rivals!
  • Barrel Inventory – The Barrel Inventory has now been redesigned to show a 4x4 grid of items rather than a 3x4 grid.
  • Ship Damage - Hull Holes - When targeting shots into your enemy’s hull, repeated shots in the same place will now grow the size of the damage holes. These new holes vary in size and increase the rate in which your ship fills with water and takes longer to repair!
  • Ship Damage - Collapse the Mast - Landing a clutch shot on an enemies Mast will now drop the mast onto the deck of the ship, slowing their speed. Your enemies will need to both raise the mast and patch it with wood to secure it back in place.
  • Ship Damage - Drop the Anchor - Targeting a shot onto the Capstan will drop the anchor and damage the Capstan pegs. Your enemy will need to repair their capstan pegs to retain its original raising speed.
  • Ship Damage - Disable the Wheel - Targeting an enemy’s wheel will destroy pegs within the wheel, reducing the effectiveness in turning the Ship. Your enemy will need to repair their Ship wheel pegs to retain its original turning rate.
  • Shop Browsing - Finding a specific category of item is now much easier in the shop, filters have been added to all shops.
  • PC High Dynamic Range - Support for HDR compatible Screens on PC. Players can access a 'HDR Calibration' page with Settings to calibrate the Brightness of the display.
  • New Contest Areas - 3 New Contest Areas have been added that we are looking for focus testing on. Try your hand at 'Leave Us A Lone', 'Spoiling For A Fight', and 'Kraken's Brawl'.
